Project Manager (Multidisciplinary) | C-Job Hoofdorp

The function

  • Managing teams working on naval architecture and mechanical engineering projects;
  • Monitoring general ship design requirements, including weight, stability, deadweight, sound and structural strength;
  • Liaising with clients, suppliers and subcontractors;
  • Monitoring budgets and schedules of different projects;
  • Gathering and studying relevant data from, for example, specifications, design drawings, norms and standards in order to carry out the relevant engineering activities;
  • Organising, developing and promoting the participation of employees in project meetings;
  • Determining, in terms of both quality and quantity, the necessary requirements for the project. This includes staff capacity and additional resources, requested in a timely manner to the Head of Engineering;
  • Distributing tasks within the project;
  • Creating a positive working atmosphere and motivation within the project team.


  • Responsible for planning, progress, budget and quality of your project;
  • Coordinate and maintain communication of information flows to customers, external regulators and classification societies regarding the timely approval of documents;
  • Responsible for weekly time reporting and billing.
  • Responsible for the delivery of design in pre-arranged layout and scope of the team of engineers that you manage;
  • Responsible for the quality and accuracy of the work of the team of engineers that you manage;
  • Efficient use of available software, standards and work protocols for yourself and the team of engineers that you manage;
  • Delivering work within the agreed time and budget. And in the event of deviations of these, submitting improvements for process efficiency.


Profile of the Project Manager

  • Studied Naval Architecture or Maritime Technology to Bachelor level;
  • 5 to 10 years working experience in the maritime industry;
  • Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English;
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Class and Statutory requirements;
  • Strong personality, inspirational, result-oriented, constructive and representative;
  • Previous experience as (assistant) Project Manager.
