Senior Lead Structural Engineer

As senior structural engineer at C-Job, you have a great affinity with the whole maritime industry. You want to share your expertise with other professionals. Effectively organising and planning activities is in your nature.

Our track record includes projects for dredging, offshore passenger vessels and yachts engaging with a wide range of both national and international clients. You will be responsible for delivering products on specification and on time to clients that are working in the range of our focus markets. To do so you will work closely together with the project managers, engineers, and of course our clients. You are responsible for the smooth execution of your projects during the complete cycle of its event.





  • Able to adapt quickly at both the concept and detail level
  • Translating customer objectives into realisable design solutions
  • You will have a role in budget estimations on project prospects
  • Developing general construction plans for large, international marine construction projects
  • Proven capability of proposing solutions and competitive suggestions quickly and effectively
  • You will be contact person for both the client, suppliers, class society and other related stakeholders
  • Able to supervise a team of engineers and designers in devising and developing ship structures, including supervision of subcontractor
  • You are responsible for the delivery of engineering work scope (structural) in line with the project’s technical specification, budget and planning
  • You report to the Project Manager on progress, set-backs and concerns and signal structural risks and anomalies in projects
  • Performing strength calculations based on the Finite Element Method, with the help of FEM software applications such as Ansys, RFEM, FEMAP

Skills / Experience

  • Leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Good knowledge of class and statutory rules
  • Insight into FEM analyses and other software programs
  • Easiness of interaction with colleagues and involved parties
  • Detail design within naval architecture and structural engineering
  • An excellent command of Dutch and English, both written and spoken
  • In-depth experience and sound technical knowledge in both concept and basic
  • Ability to set priorities, take a process-centred approach, and maintain an overview
  • BSc or MSc degree in maritime technology, marine construction, mechanical engineering or aerospace engineering
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience as structural engineer including concept, basic and details design for the offshore or shipbuilding industry
