Senior Naval Architect
Fulltime – Athens, Greece
As a Senior Naval Architect at C-Job, you have great affinity with the maritime industry. You will focus on the engineering activities for vessels in the dredging, offshore, ferry, and mega yacht industries. You will do design work during the concept and basic design stage and will translate customer requirements into technical drawings as important part of a multidisciplinary project team. Our track record includes projects for offshore, dredging, passenger vessels, and yachts engaging with a wide range of both national and international clients.
You independently take actions and stimulate your team to get the best out of them and the project. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical documents on specification and on time to our clients. To do so you will work closely together with the project managers, engineers, and of course our clients. You are responsible for the smooth execution of your projects during the complete cycle of its event and have sufficient opportunities for self-development on a professional and personal level.
Responsibilities
- Creating general arrangements and preparing all naval architecture calculations, such as: weight calculations, lines plan, stability calculations, resistance and propulsion calculations
- Knowledge of fire and safety regulations, regulatory framework of intact and damage stability, etc.
- Supervising and/or coaching interns and trainees
- Executing conceptual design projects independently with customers
- Checking the progress and quality of the work and you provide reports
- Advising on the impact of the design change and holding responsibility for the design integrity
- Cooperating with other disciplines and you ensure that the design complies with the requirements of the design
- Controlling the design based on the international rules and regulations and independently supervising and reporting model tests, sea trials, and inclining tests
- Contributing to the sales process as the technical expert by consulting the designers, analyzing the design, and providing input in terms of the specifications or other
Skills / Experience
- Proactive and innovative with resilient attitude, team player
- Passion for the maritime industry
- BSc and/or MSc degree in Naval Architecture
- At least 8 years of relevant experience.
- An innovative, stress-resistant, and flexible approach
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, and stability calculation programs as NAPA, Delftship
- Knowledge of principals of ship hydrodynamic and ship motions, knowledge of SOLAS and main classification societies regulatory framework
- Excellent analytical, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions, autonomy and ready to walk the extra mile if needed
