Purposebuilt for the Paraguay–Paraná rivers
Veronica V operates on the Paraguay–Paraná waterway, where long stretches of low water and strong currents place demanding requirements on shallow‑draft pushers working with large barge convoys. Concordia Damen asked C‑Job to support the project by delivering the concept and basic design, ensuring the vessel would meet the operational profile defined by Girona S.A. This included designing for navigation at drafts below two meters while pushing convoys up to 281 by 48 meters across a 2,695‑kilometer route.
The shallow‑water environment heavily influenced the early design work. Maintaining a steady trim with minimal under‑keel clearance required a hull form and weight distribution tailored to the river’s fluctuating conditions. Because river pushers are highly sensitive to small changes in geometry, C‑Job refined these aspects from the concept stage to support predictable behavior throughout the vessel’s loading range.
Every aspect of Veronica V balances performance, maneuverability, and functionality. The engine room layout allows straightforward maintenance, while the interior and exterior arrangements support safe operations and give the crew comfortable spaces to rest during long periods on the river.
The project was further defined by an ambitious delivery schedule, requiring design activities to progress in parallel with yard preparations and the involvement of multiple subcontractors.
Throughout this phase, C‑Job worked in close coordination with Concordia Damen to provide timely, well‑structured design packages that supported ongoing decisions at the yard and minimized the risk of late adjustments.
Veronica V entered service in March 2025 and operates as part of a 281 × 48‑meter convoy of twelve barges, transporting dry bulk cargo along its intended trade routes.
