Case studies

Anna Weber-van Bosse – for NIOZ

The Pelagia has been the Netherlands' flagship ocean-going research vessel for the past 30 years. When the Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research (NIOZ) decided to replace her, the ambition was to build a larger, yet compact vessel, with increased capabilities and improved sustainability. C-Job provided the concept design for the new vessel, the Anna Weber-van Bosse – named after the renowned Dutch botanist and marine researcher.

Ursa – for Työvene

The Ursa, a trailing suction hopper dredger (THSD), was built by the Työvene shipyard for the Maritime office of Gdynia, and is the first of their fleet.
C-Job was responsible for the concept, basic and detail design, and the integration of dredging equipment.

Green Jade – for CSBC

C-Job supported CSBC with basic design and main crane integration for the Green Jade, the first heavy lift and offshore wind installation vessel built in Taiwan. The vessel, which features a crane with 4,000 tons of lifting capacity and DP3 capability, was launched by CDWE, a joint venture between CSBC and DEME Offshore, and entered service in 2023.

FAQ

Ideally, as early as possible. DPC creates the most value when we are involved at the concept or early design stage, where key decisions around performance, compliance, CAPEX, OPEX and future readiness are still open. That said, we also support shipowners and operators during later stages, including upgrades, retrofit decisions, operational improvement and performance optimization.
Yes. C-Job’s Ship Design & Performance Center supports both newbuild and in-service vessels. We help clients shape new vessel concepts and owner-oriented designs, but also support upgrades, retrofits, conversion studies, decarbonization pathways and performance improvement programs for existing assets. Our focus is always the same: better decisions that improve lifetime vessel performance and long-term fleet value.
Yes. C-Job’s Ship Design & Performance Center helps shipowners and operators navigate decarbonization, regulatory change and future-fuel decisions with practical engineering support. Whether the challenge is energy efficiency, alternative fuels, hybrid systems, retrofit strategy or long-term compliance planning, we help turn uncertainty into a clearer, more future-ready path forward.
No. C-Job’s Ship Design & Performance Center is designed to extend, accelerate and elevate in-house teams — not replace them. We work as an independent partner, adding specialist expertise, extra capacity and cross-sector insight where needed, while integrating with your organization, workflows and decision-making processes.
We use transparent, data-driven engineering to make trade-offs clearer. By combining naval architecture, marine engineering, operational insight and sustainability expertise, we help clients evaluate options in terms of performance, compliance, cost, risk and future readiness. This gives commercial, technical and operational stakeholders a stronger basis for alignment and faster decision-making.
