Elevating offshore versatility and sustainability
To support their ambitious plans for the future, Glomar envisioned a compact yet multifunctional ship, capable of supporting a wide range of offshore activities on the smallest possible service, while providing exceptional crew comfort and space. Since it would be unlike anything Glomar had built before, C-Job was tasked with the design work from the initial concept to basic design.
C-Job’s design was for a sophisticated offshore vessel measuring nearly 80 meters, capable of housing 60 personnel, and equipped with four thrusters, each with 1100kw of power, two at the rear and two at the front. Conceived for demanding conditions, the vessel combines high operational performance with remarkable flexibility, including a moon pool; the ability to carry Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) which can inspect, observe and complete physical tasks underwater; plus space for a trencher, to bury pipelines and submarine cables.
Environmental innovation was central to the project. The vessel features dual-fuel engines running on methanol and marine gas oil, integrated methanol tanks, and battery power systems. The ship holds both Green Plus and Methanol Ready class notations and is also equipped with Ice Class 1D and DP2 systems, allowing for precision operations in challenging environments.
On board, the vessel offers spacious and luxurious accommodation, including numerous single cabins for personnel, a gym, sauna, and changing rooms.
The project benefited from very smooth and effective collaboration, with both Glomar and C-Job working hands-on to solve challenges in an open and transparent way. The basic design phase has now been concluded.
